This book is clearly directed to high school and junior high school students, but it is also useful for older individuals who might not be inclined to read through a lengthy, dense book on the subject. It gets across some essential information: It's not the victim's fault, consent must be affirmative, and also talks about STDs and other related issues. It starts with a story about a young girl in another culture playing with a male friend who takes advantage of her when she falls down running. Although this sounds like a "kid" story, this information is important for anyone who cannot conceive of a "friend" taking sexual advantage against one's will (in other words, rape). It also speaks to potential aggressors, stressing that mere failure to "fight back" or scream does not indicate consent. It would be nice if the publisher offered a "look in" -- I wanted to see how it read, but I ended up buying it, sight unseen, because I was looking for something short for a family member who is not a keen reader. It was a worthwhile purchase.
