My son loves dinosaur train and the number & alpha block books... so I picked up the Dino Block. The book is ok. Yes it has a lot of dinos and yes it shows HOW to pronounce their names. However, something seemed lacking. I thought it was a great idea to compare dinos to everyday objects and animals, but those sorts of words and story line just does not really connect to a toddler.
I purchased this for my 3 year-old niece and 2 year-old nephew. I wanted to find them a somewhat educational dinosaur book since they had taken an interest in "monsters". I chose this one mainly because it has simple pronunciation guides for the dinosaurs' names, which will be helpful when the kids' mom and dad read the book to them. Or, when the kids start reading on their own. Besides that handy feature, many of the pages are fold-out. My nephew liked this feature a lot. He seemed to like the tactile aspect of the book, basically fun to play with.If you're looking for a sturdy dinosaur book that's a bit interactive and parent-friendly, I'd highly recommend this one.
I've really enjoyed the other books in this block line-up (the counting and alphabet ones are great), but this one is very different. It's an exercise in pronouncing a billion scientifically correct dinosaur names.
My son (2 years old) loves this book. It's fun and colorful, with a large variety of dinosaurs that are compared to everyday things; i.e., crows, tents, tall buildings, etc - perfect for his curious little mind! I love that the author writes the names phonetically underneath the actual name... (perfect for mom ;) ). If your child is a dino lover you won't be disappointed!
This series of books is my absolute favorite series for my 2 year old yet that I've found. The pages are extremely interactive and he loves reading them over and over again. I can't wait until Christmas so that I can purchase them for my nephew as well. I would definitely recommend these as a staple for young children. I know I will definitely be getting them for all the young children in our family.
Absolutely love this book! The stories is so cute comparing life objects and surroundings with the dinosaurs.I bought the book used; it was still in good condition as stated.I definitely will buy this again as a gift for another.
My 2.5 year old pronounces and remembers 7 syllable dinosaur names now! Amazing! I like how they used the names and how to pronounce each syllable. It was helpful for me too.
Love this. Bought for my 5 month old and she looks at the pictures while I read to her. It's great because it has the pronounciations and was able to pack in a good amount of dinosaurs while keeping her interest. Someone wrote that the colors seem to bleed into the next page and I noticed that as well. Still think it's a great board book.
