My wife and I are native Floridians who have been to st Augustine more times than we can remember. It's our favorite getaway - i even proposed to her at the city gates. Anyway. We know the city pretty well and still found new and interesting information in this book. We just got back from spending Christmas there and saw copies of this book in use several times. We usually go for new years or in January when it's quiet. Christmas there was a fun but crowded party with very few dining options on Christmas day. May not do Christmas again but we go back for the Christmas lights as we have done for some years now.
This guide became my inseparable travel companion, and helped me to select the perfect place to stay in the middle of the historic district. The guide provides four daily walking tours that cover house-to-house histories in important streets such as Avilés and Saint George. It also highlights important museums and restaurants, and the impressive fort. Thanks, Elsbeth!
